Apple TV+ is an upcoming American over-the-top ad-free subscription video-on-demand web television service announced by Apple Inc. in 2019 during their March 25 Apple Special Event held at Steve Jobs Theater.

Now Tim Cook has finally revealed the release date and price of Apple TV Plus at today's iPhone 11 launch in the Apple Event. Apple announced its plans for TV Plus, its standalone streaming service to stand alongside the growing number of offerings from Netflix, HBO, Disney, and others. It will be available from November 1, 2019, in over 100 countries and will cost Rs.99 per month after a 7day trial. Also it can be shared between up to six different family members at no extra cost.

In addition to this, when you buy an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV, you'll get one year's subscription free. For years, Apple has threatened to take on the might of Hollywood, and with Apple TV Plus, the company won't just be selling movies and TVs, it'll be producing them too.Some of the highlights show include:

• The Morning Show – This will be a drama centering on the behind-the-scenes antics at a national morning news TV show, starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell.

• See – One of the biggest Apple TV Plus shows will be this epic sci-fi drama, set on Earth centuries after a worldwide cataclysm has rendered all humans blind. It stars Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodard.

• For All Mankind – Here’s yet another sci-fi series, this time set in an alternate timeline where the space race of the 1960s between the U.S. and the Soviet Union never ended.

• Dickinson – This will be a comedy centering on a fictional version of the poet Emily Dickinson, as played by Hailee Steinfeld.

• Helpsters – This children’s series has a goal to teach kids about coding and comes from the Sesame Street producers at Sesame Workshop.

• Peanuts – Apple has secured the rights to release new shows and movies based on the classic comic strip, starting with Snoopy in Space.

• Ghostwriter – A new version of the children’s series, which will focus on four kids who have to battle creatures based on literature.

• The Elephant Queen – A documentary that focuses on an African elephant and her herd.

• Oprah Winfrey Book Club – This show brings back the highly popular virtual book club created by Oprah Winfrey.

But despite what you may have heard, Apple’s new service isn’t exactly a Netflix competitor. In fact, it may be more like HBO. Apple TV Plus is arriving within a few months of similar launches from Disney, WarnerMedia, and NBCUniversal, creating much more competition for the customer’s dollar. For years, Netflix and Amazon Prime have been competing mostly to prove that streaming could be a viable alternative to cable. But those days are over, and nearly every major content company is now getting in the game.

Apple has not announced plans to support Windows or Android-based devices with its new Apple TV app. However, the company has announced it will support viewing Apple TV Plus original programming on the Apple website, which will support Chrome and Firefox browsers as well as Apple’s Safari. That means Windows PCs and Android-based smartphones and tablets, along with Chromebooks, should be able to watch all the exclusive Apple TV Plus shows.

Apple has already confirmed that the shows for Apple TV Plus won’t include any ads or commercials. It has also confirmed that the shows on the service will support downloads for people who want to watch them offline. Some shows will be released with all episodes at once, while other shows will launch with three episodes at first, with the rest released on a weekly basis. Apple TV Plus will also support 4K resolutions for video streaming.

Will Apple TV Plus Succeed?

it’s hard to say just how successful that strategy will be. Apple isn’t HBO, nor is it Netflix, Disney, CBS, NBC, or Amazon. They have proven themselves as networks and studios that can create content people will pay to watch on an ongoing basis. Apple’s first year will be a time to prove to people that it can be more than a hardware company that also hosts creative industries like music and A. For years, Apple has been slowly transforming into a services company, building sizable businesses like Apple Music and Apple Pay that sit alongside its hardware base. Apple TV Plus is arguably the most ambitious service play Apple has attempted, entering a notoriously fickle business at a moment of intense competition. If it succeeds, it will open up an entirely new side of the company — but it certainly won’t be easy.
